Blackbraid

Hailing from upstate New York, Blackbraid has earned a following among metal enthusiasts for a bold, cathartic use of Native American lyrical imagery and musical textures alongside the standard sonic vocabulary of black metal. Blackbraid emerged in 2022 with a self-titled album featuring hard-hitting, screamed onslaughts like “The River of Time Flows Through Me” and “Barefoot Ghost Dance on Blood-Soaked Soil.” A year later, Blackbraid II added more native instrumentation to its sonic palette. Blackbraid III shifted the dynamics even further, mixing punishing riffs with contemplative acoustic passages marked by nature sounds.
