About Uada
Uada are a melodic black metal band from the Pacific Northwest formed by guitarist, vocalist, and producer Jake Superchi. Their sound is inspired by early-'90s Swedish black metal while their thematic subject matter most often revolves around paganism, mysticism, misanthropy, nature, and darkness -- physical, emotional, and spiritual. Founded as a quartet, their lineup has shifted several times. Devoid of Light, the band's 2016 debut, was celebrated in the metal press and found a global audience. By the time they released 2018's Cult of a Dying Sun, the band's roster changed almost wholesale, with Superchi and lead guitarist James Sloan the only remaining original members. 2020's Djinn offered the band's third rhythm section behind Superchi and Sloan. Bassist Nate Verschoor signed on for the session and remained for 2023's Crepuscule Natura. By the time 2026's Interwoven appeared, Uada were a duo with Superchi and Verschoor.
