Hämatom

Part of the second wave of the Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hardness) scene, Hämatom combines onstage theatricality with a punishing electro-industrial groove metal sound, echoing the intense and controversy-baiting style of genre forebears like Rammstein, Oomph!, and Eisbrecher. Hämatom's members wear distinctive masks and are identified by the cardinal directions, Nord, Ost, Süd, and Rose, and their lyrics address everything from European folklore to socio-political issues. Notable albums include Wir Sind Gott (2016), which explores the intersection of divinity and human nature, Maskenball (2019), a celebration of their theatrical persona, and Für Dich (2025), a deeply personal and introspective work that touched on the untimely death of bassist West in 2023.
