Culture Beat

Culture Beat is a massively successful Euro-dance project from Frankfurt, Germany. Though their 1991 debut album, Horizon, had a more house-oriented sound, they switched up to a much faster, glitzier style with 1993's Serenity, which featured a chart-topping worldwide smash in lead single "Mr. Vain." They continued to have charting hits in Europe for another decade, as they adapted more of a straightforward pop sound on 1998's Metamorphosis, and an updated version of their signature hit, "Mr. Vain Recall," appeared in 2003. Since then, they have occasionally issued new singles, as well as the 2012 downtempo compilation The Loungin' Side of Culture Beat, and they continue to perform at '90s nostalgia events around the world.
