Flora Hibberd

With her dark, angular melodies and poetic lyrics, it's perhaps not surprising that Flora Hibberd cites artists like Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Cat Power, and Jacques Brel among her songwriting influences. Her first single, the brooding "The Absentee" from her 2019 debut EP of the same name, established Hibberd's presence on the indie music scene with ghostly atmospheres anchored in strummed acoustic guitar. That same year, she made her publishing debut with a book of collected writings and lyrics. Following two more EPs -- 2020's Archipelago and the next year's Hold, which featured similar small-band arrangements -- she made her full-length debut with Swirl in 2025.
