About The Convenience

While remaining rooted in new wave and post-punk influences, indie duo the Convenience have explored the synthy sounds of 1980s pop and more confrontational 2000s indie rock with an equally devotional flair. Although they share members with New Orleans synth pop group Video Age, the Convenience feature different songwriters. They put a funky, homespun spin on uplifting, affectionate 1980s pop and new wave on the project's debut album, 2021's Accelerator, whereas 2025's Like Cartoon Vampires adopted a more angular, guitar-based approach reminiscent of acts like the Killers and Franz Ferdinand, a sound accompanied by more alienated, anxious lyrics.
