Inspired by generations of soulful pop singers from America and Europe, Mergui is an Israeli pop singer who’s not content with success only in his native country. A runner-up on a popular singing competition series, he issued two EPs of Hebrew-language music before making a bid for English-language listeners in 2022, finding success with songs like “Sucks to Know You (FU)” and “Cry.”
