About Sarah Beth Briggs

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was the youngest ever finalist in BBC Young Musician of the Year in 1984 - aged 11 - until Benjamin Grosvenor took that position. I made my concerto debut in Mozart the same year at Newcastle City Hall. Very exciting and memorable as a youngster! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? It was so exciting to make this recording at the Sage Centre (Glasshouse) Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Sonata in B-Flat Major, D. 960: II. Andante Sostenuto” In my opinion, one of the greatest piano sonatas ever written. Recording it was a joy - and the recording was in memory of my late teacher, Denis Matthews. This piece of music has a beauty and an other worldly quality that sets it apart.
