Black Sunday (Radio Version)

Cypress Hill's 1991 debut introduced the trio as hip-hop's favorite stoners, but the West Coast crew's follow-up drove home the creative potency of their blunted sound. Muggs' production is a hazy mix of rugged beats and eerie, warped samples, while B-Real and Sen Dog lace the tracks with their signature, off-kilter nasal raps. It's all crowned by the bugged-out "Insane in the Membrane"—not only one of the crew's defining anthems, but also a high point of the whacked-out left coast sound.
