The nocturnal vibes on this album run deep. Brooklyn’s Eli Sostre has concocted a mysterious, moody blend of turn-up raps and turn-on R&B. Sleep Is for the Weak is a night owl’s best friend, communicating intimate thoughts and internal monologues over woozy bass and skittering hi-hats and snares. And though tracks like “New Addy” and “Let You Go” are borne from carnal desires, songs like “Nobody Else” show Eli can drop a vulnerable R&B track with the best of them.
