Editors’ Notes While The Misfits shared the same morbid fascination with lowbrow culture as The Cramps, singer Glenn Danzig and bassist Jerry Only took a darker, less playful approach to their music. Their three-chord, Ramones-influenced sound immediately aligned them with punk acts like The Damned and Black Flag, with whom they toured before breaking up in 1983. Danzig went on to enjoy solo stardom as a metal-goth hybrid, while Only soldiered with a rotating crew of new Misfits into the 21st century. The band also claimed one of the most recognizable logos in rock with their Crimson Ghost mascot.
