Suede Essentials

Forming in London in 1989, Suede built up such a devoted cult following that the British music paper Melody Maker described them as "the best new band in Britain" before their first single even came out. Not fitting in with either the dance-rock mania of the Madchester scene nor the drawn-out haze of drone and shoegaze, Suede embraced a straight-ahead, guitar-centric Britpop sound, inspired by the likes of David Bowie and The Smiths.
