“A Paramore show always feels so joyful,” says the band’s lead vocalist Hayley Williams. “I can be singing a dark or heavy song and look out and feel so connected to so many people. Suddenly that heavy song feels like an inside joke.” After releasing their sixth album This Is Why in February 2023, the band is taking those fiery post-punk anthems on the road. Williams can’t wait. She says performing newer songs is especially exciting because they’re “like new puzzles” the band is still trying to figure out. “There’s no muscle memory yet,” she says. It helps that Paramore’s particularly passionate fans are always down for the ride. “I always feel like every night is a victory, as if we’ve overcome the horror show that is the modern world and danced it all away,” she says.
