It’s appropriate that LE YORA’s first LP is entitled Labyrinth. The individual members of the Berlin-based collective (producer/DJs SOMMA, Jewels, yuma., and MAGNUS) often light the path for the others to follow, in terms of how a track is written. But there’s also an endless-possibility quality to the way the songs shift from one to the next, exploring different textures, a wide range of vocal styles, and all manner of house-adjacent production. The group’s Selects—the playlist that highlights an artist’s favorite tracks of any given moment—takes a similarly adventurous route, and they promise to update it with new tracks from time to time. “Expect some variety, given there are four of us,” SOMMA tells Apple Music, “but we hope this playlist follows a common thread.
