Puddle of Mudd Essentials

Puddle of Mudd were already broken up before most people heard of them. Then Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst got hold of the defunct band's demo tape and corralled frontman Wes Scantlin to move from Kansas City to Los Angeles and form a new lineup. Durst signed them to his Flawless label and the band rode the post-grunge wave with 2001's Come Clean, whose fourth single, "She Hates Me," was the most played radio track of 2002. Scantlin saw the band through numerous personnel changes and 2011 brought a covers album with the band attacking unlikely tunes by Tom Petty and Neil Young.
