Basic Channel founders Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus kicked off their Maurizio project in 1992 with a pair of banging techno singles, but when they launched the legendary "M" series in '95, the minimal icons began exploring deep, hypnotic dub techno. The pair built their tracks around the simplest elements: pulsating beats, crackling ribbons of synthesizer texture, sizzling trails of dub-inspired echo. While the Maurizio tracks were designed for massive club sound systems, their headphone-friendly spaciousness means even homebodies can get lost in these spellbinding grooves.
