Born in Mexico in 1959, Marco Antonio Solís is one of the most successful Latin singers and songwriters of all time. He cofounded the legendary band Los Bukis in the '70s, penning most of their major hits, and as songwriter, he's worked with artists like Olga Tañon, Marisela, and Rocio Durcal. Launching his solo career in the late '90s, he became known as one of the most versatile stars in Latin pop, moving from cumbia to ranchero to bachata. But while at the start of his career he focused mostly on the grupera sound, he became famous around the world for his lush ballads.
