About Los Bukis

Mexican band Los Bukis was founded by cousins Marco Antonio Solís and Joel Solís, whose songs popularized grupera music throughout Latin America. ∙ Los Bukis’ 1975 first single, “Falso Amor”—also the title track of their bestselling debut album released later that year—was an instant success on Spanish radio. ∙ In 1982, they recorded the theme song for and starred in the Mexican comedy film Las Musiqueras. ∙ They received three Grammy nominations during their career, including Best Latin Pop Album for their 1991’s A Través de Tus Ojos. ∙ After disbanding Los Bukis in 1996, frontman Marco Antonio Solís pursued a successful solo career with 10 No. 1 singles, and he was inducted into Billboard’s Latin Music Hall of Fame in 2000. ∙ Several group members reunited under the name Los BK’S in 2017, and they performed Los Bukis classics on tour before releasing the 2019 album Tu’ Amor.
