Mýa became a radio mainstay in the late '90s—thanks in part to "It's All About Me," her duet with Sisqó—and her popularity only grew in the following years. Her eponymous debut was a critical and commercial success, but it was overshadowed by the release of her sophomore album Fear of Flying. Taking a more active role in its production, Mýa collaborated with heavyweights like Tricky Stewart, Wyclef Jean, and Swizz Beatz, and dabbled in jazz, soul, and reggae. It spawned her biggest hit "Case of the Ex"—only matched by her collaborative cover of "Lady Marmalade" in 2001.
