Lou Reed was one of rock's most fearless boundary pushers, chronicling life on the street in seedy detail and showering listeners in feedback. But there was plenty of tenderness in his wild spirit, and his catalog is filled with beautiful ballads, from the elegiac Velvet Underground track "Sunday Morning" to the gently swaying John Cale collaboration "Hello It's Me" to the lovelorn urban country tearjerker "Endless Cycle."
