La Avanzada Regia

In the ‘90s, the music milieu in Monterrey, Mexico, birthed a generation of bold musicians. Often compared to Seattle's grunge movement, the rebellious scene spawned provocative alt sounds like Plastilina Mosh's wild dance rock (“Mr. P-Mosh”) and Control Machete's ferocious rap-punk (“Comprendes, Mendes?”), but also homegrown elements like Celso Piña's robust cumbia sonidera (“Cumbia Sobre el Río”).
