Rising to prominence in the mid-’00s, his offbeat lyricism complemented the satisfyingly modest beats and melodies that characterise Nederhop. “On Top of de” recalls Eminem in its mischievous delivery and burping bass, while “Punt” effectively adopts a screeching string sample to underscore Pappie’s witty one-liners. “De Manier” eschews Nederhop entirely, for an EDM-fuelled pop song shepherded by a rollicking house piano and funky vocoder blips.
