Key Glock Essentials

Key Glock, born in 1997, and his older cousin Young Dolph were poised to usher Memphis rap into the national limelight as a duo, with Dolph mentoring Glock and signing him to his Paper Route Empire label. On their 2019 and 2021 albums, Dum and Dummer and Dum and Dummer 2, Glock and Dolph proved excellent collaborators, with Glock, in particular, improving as a technically thrilling songwriter. Shortly after, Dolph was murdered and the trajectory of Glock’s career changed in an instant. After Dolph passed, his younger cousin took many of the lessons he learned from his mentor and combined them with his own innate swagger, applying them to albums like 2023’s Glockoma 2.
