Inspired by Buzzcocks

It's hard to overstate Buzzcocks' impact on a certain strain of indie music. The progenitors of pop-punk, they were, alongside the Ramones, one of the first bands to successfully mix rough with pretty, sharp with sweet—a hybrid that resonated throughout '80s New Wave, well into Britpop, indie rock, and beyond. Next time you hear the sound of someone falling in love at high speed over blasts of noise, tip your hat to Buzzcocks and thank them—it's their (beautiful) fault.
