Giorgio Moroder's early work with Donna Summer blended her sexy R&B vocals with the synthesizer's relentless throb, creating the sound of Eurodisco. His futuristic sound crossed over to the pop world with a series of classic hit singles from the soundtracks of '80s blockbusters, including Irene Cara's "Flashdance...What A Feeling," Limahl's "Never Ending Story," and a one-two punch from 1986's Top Gun: Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone" and Berlin's "Take My Breath Away." Daft Punk paid tribute to the man with their track "Giorgio By Moroder" from 2013's Random Access Memories.
