Japanese psych-lords Ghost developed a highly layered sound, both beautiful and eerie all at once. The hymn-like "Hanmiyau" and the hushed folk of "I've Been Flying" would make ideal soundtracks for a meditation session, but songwriter Masaki Batoh was never content to let his music slip into the background. Small details like the horror-movie keyboards underlying “Dominoes (Celebration for the Gray Days)” brought vibrancy to his sonic visions.
