In the tradition of artists like Vince Gill and Brad Paisley, Charlie Worsham is a gifted country singer-songwriter who can also play the hell out of a guitar. Born in Mississippi in 1985, Worsham first earned attention as a member of the band KingBilly. But in 2012 he started pursuing his own vision, and the result was his 2013 debut album, Rubberband. The record—full of humor, hooks, crafty songwriting, fluid guitar playing, and a mix of country, rock, blues, and soul influences—made a name for Worsham in Nashville. The follow-up didn’t arrive until 2017, but Worsham was too good a player to keep his talents all to himself; he has also spent time playing with the likes of Old Crow Medicine Show and Dierks Bentley. The 2023 Compadres EP underlined the respect Worsham earned in Nashville, pairing him with Bentley, Luke Combs, Kip Moore, and others.
