BADBADNOTGOOD Essentials

BADBADNOTGOOD Essentials

As a trio of jazz students, this Toronto act launched their career by rejecting just about every trapping and tradition of jazz. BADBADNOTGOOD were catapulted to viral fame in 2011 after Tyler, the Creator shared a YouTube video the group had posted. Their earliest work interpreted tracks by hip-hop acts like a Tribe Called Quest and Odd Future, melding warm keyboard tones and funky grooves. BADBADNOTGOOD have found a sweet spot between atmospheric instrumental tracks and collaborations with pop singers and rappers, effectively bridging the gap between noir and funk and thriving both as a genre-spanning backing combo and an instrumental band forging its own soulful jams.
