Arista: Disco, R&B and Funk
Apple Music
Arista Records debuted in 1974, at the dawn of the disco era, and also maintained a strong line in R&B and funk, releasing hits by Ray Parker Jr., Ohio Players, Headhunters, and Mandrill. Big soul stars like Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin had their careers revitalized by Arista. Even the label's big pop act, Barry Manilow, got on the disco bandwagon with his hit "Copacabana (At the Copa)."
