It was easy to understand why Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire transformed so quickly from underground act to arena-filling stars. They had studied rock's masters of drama, like U2, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, and Radiohead, and learned how to take listeners on a journey. Arcade Fire are also an alternative band at heart, and you can hear echoes of Talking Heads, New Order, Pixies, and The Cure.
