Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country”

“God’s Country” is Blake Shelton's latest single and his first country chart-topper in six years. The singer and The Voice host imbues the track with his own lived experience—his farm in Oklahoma pretty well meets the definition of the song's titular land—but like most songs, it's the product of several hands. Devin Dawson and HARDY and Jordan Schmidt were the tune's cowriters, and Scott Hendricks produced the recording. Shelton is more than happy to share the credit with the whole team, and in this spirit, we are highlighting the work—often done behind the scenes and with little acknowledgment—that these songwriters and producers contribute to some of our favorite art. Explore their playlists and get to know a little more about the artists, writers, and studio magicians who exist just outside the spotlight.
