In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My cousin gifted me a guitar when I was 6 years old, after I showed a strong interest in the instrument. I would sit on our stoop and sing, "I got the blues." I was excited to see and hear musicians play at my grandma's Baptist church in Harlem. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Sankofa, Young Jimmy, To My Chagrin (2007) - EP Young Jimmy, Rockett 88 (Deluxe) The first time I recorded professionally was in 2007 at the age of 20. 'To My Chagrin' captures the true spirit and sound of the Afro-Punk/ Indie-Rock scene. Rockett 88 (deluxe) embodies the plight of the shunned black rocker who decided to rebel. Kam Franklin)” This was the last song I recorded from the Rockett 88 sessions. It also took the longest to record and the most expensive to produce. I don't usually write dis tracks. The track came out great, and Kam Franklin's voice was the cherry on top. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Recording with Kendra Foster at Quad Studios, D'Angelo's recent passing made me realize how special that session was. The song 'No Racist' was written about George Floyd's murder on my birthday, May 25th, by a Police officer. I protest ending racism. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
