About Wild Ponies

Americana duo Wild Ponies offer an earthy blend of rugged alt-country and old-time Appalachian styles with stops in rock and folk. The project of musical and marital partners Doug and Telisha Williams, the couple originally hailed from Martinsville, Virginia before basing themselves out of Nashville's musical hub. Their 2013 debut, Things That Used to Shine, made inroads on the Americana Radio charts and was followed in 2016 by Radiant. Where their first two efforts skewed decidedly toward the rock end of the Americana spectrum, Wild Ponies' third outing, Galax, deeply reflected their Appalachian roots. Released in 2017, Galax was heavy on banjo, fiddle, high harmonies, and traditional mountain fare. ~ Timothy Monger
