About Weedeater

Bassist/vocalist “Dixie” Dave Collins disbanded cult Southern stoner-rockers Buzz-Oven in 1998 to focus on his new project, Weedeater. In 2001 and 2003, he released the sludge-metal opuses AND JUSTICE FOR Y’ALL and SIXTEEN TONS, respectively. The group also toured heavily with likeminded acts including Crowbar, the Sword, and Corrosion Of Conformity. In 2003, Collins also spent some time lending his talents as bassist for Bongzilla and Sourvein, but by 2007 he had re-entered the studio with Weedeater, and recorded GOD LUCK AND GOOD SPEED for the L.A.-based metal imprint Southern Lord.
