In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. We've been best friends since 1st grade. We have memories of writing songs and performing them in elementary school, or inventing satirical songs about life in Albuquerque, but some of the best memories were from the early days of Matt's bands in SF. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Nick Drake, Pink Moon Radiohead, Kid A Toad the Wet Sprocket, Playlist: The Very Best of Toad the Wet Sprocket Originality, genuine poetic expression, unique sound, and profoundly impactful on us as people and artists. Toad's album Pale was played over and over when we lived in SF. Nick Drake brings brave and reflective lyrics. Radiohead is fundamental! Tell us why you chose this song. “In Simile of the Wind” Jared Matt wrote the music years ago, but Chris now brings surrealist lyrics to express poetically the very struggle of poetry to capture the dialogue between the human and non-human world. Vocals were done almost spontaneously, in one sitting.
