About The Dismemberment Plan
Formed in Washington D.C. in 1993, the Dismemberment Plan played emo-tinged indie rock with an R&B and dance influence. Led by singer and guitarist Travis Morrison, the Dismemberment Plan released an EP (‘94’s CAN WE BE MATURE?), their debut full-length (‘95’s !), and their sophomore effort (‘97’s THE DISMEMBERMENT PLAN IS TERRIFIED), all on DeSoto Records. After a brief tenure with Interscope (THE ICE OF BOSTON EP), the Plan returned to DeSoto for 1999’s EMERGENCY AND I, the group’s most critically and commercially successful album. Despite tours with Pearl Jam and Death Cab for Cutie, and an expanding fan base, the band called it quits after 2001’s CHANGE.
