About The Americanos

Los Angeles-based trio the Americanos broke through with a series of high-energy singles that found electronic production meeting party-centric rap from established guest stars. After finding success with their 2012 hit "We Run L.A.," singer Louie Rubio and producer Lex Larson joined with DJ Felli Fel to form a new supergroup. Their singles often featured guest rappers or vocalists, ranging from Lil John to Lil Yachty. The Americanos formed in 2012, shortly after founding members Louie Rubio and Lex Larson collaborated as Doc Hollywood. In that iteration, the producer/vocalist team scored a hit with a song that featured guest rapper Ya Boy running rhymes over their glossy electronic beats. They teamed up with producer Felli Fel who had worked with platinum-selling rappers like Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa and together as the Americanos, they began refining that formula for new songs. Their first material came in the form of 2015 debut single "BlackOut." The amped-up drinking anthem featured Lil Jon, Tyga, and Juicy J and was used in multiple TV shows and films "We Are Your Friends" and "Office Christmas Party." They quickly signed to Atlantic and released second single "In My Foreign (feat. Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, Nicky Jam & French Montana)" in 2016. The next year they released third single "Everyday (feat. DRAM & KYLE)" and in 2018 followed it with "Never Understand (feat. Jeremih & Smokepurpp)" and "Money on You." ~ Fred Thomas
