Hailing from Sweden's south coast, singer/songwriter Tekla released two critically acclaimed records in her native tongue in the mid-'90s. Wishing to expand her artistic and commercial range, she switched to English for her next batch of songs, which became 1999's Somebody Else, her U.S. debut and her first album for Nettwerk Records. ~ Heather Phares
