About Steve Tyrell
A singer, producer, and composer with a deep love of the American songbook, Steve Tyrell has enjoyed a long and varied career ranging from A&R work in the late 1960s to releasing a succession of pop standard and tribute albums in the 21st century. Along the way, Tyrell produced and wrote hits for B.J. Thomas and Jamie Walters, won a Grammy for his work on Rod Stewart's 2004 Stardust album, and scored several films. Among his many fine tribute releases as a singer are 2008's Back to Bacharach and 2021's Shades of Ray: The Songs of Ray Charles.
