About Steirerbluat

Founded in 1997, Austrian schlager band Steirerbluat are comprised of Christian Hütter (vocals, guitar), Gebhart "Gebi" Seidl (harmonica, keyboards, backing vocals), Michael Eibinger (bass, backing vocals), Michael Hackl (guitar, backing vocals), and "Stefan "Stevie" Kurzmann" (drums). Steirerbluat were a runner-up for the Grand Prix der Volksmusik in 1998 with their song "I Mag die Sonn," and reached the Austrian albums chart with their fourth full-length album, 2001's I Brauch Di. Their albums regularly charted thereafter, including Alles, Was I Dir Biet'n Kann (2003), Nicht Mal Berühr'n (2004), Vertrau Mir (2005), and Ich Will Dich (2008). In 2008 their song "I Will Leb'n" was popularized by hitmaker DJ Ötzi, whose cover version became a Top Ten hit in both Austria and Germany. ~ Jason Birchmeier
