Stan Ridgway

About Stan Ridgway

In the mid-1980s, after recording two acclaimed albums with his band Wall Of Voodoo, Stan Ridgway embarked on a solo career. He collaborated with Stewart Copeland on the soundtrack of Francis Ford Coppola’s RUMBLEFISH, and released a quirky solo album that became a surprise U.K. Top 5 hit in 1986. After a follow-up, contractual disputes with his label, I.R.S., effectively put him out of action for two years. Eventually, Ridgway formed his own label, Birdcage. In the late '90s, Ridgway scored for film and television and continued to release ambitious solo albums into the '00s.
