In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Although I grew up studying and playing classical piano under Donna Gobin, as a teenager, I was influenced by Queen, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Yes, and particularly the earlier Elton John albums. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Daniel Harding, Janine Jansen, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto Dick Hyman and His Orchestra, The Rags, Stomps, & Blues Of Ferdinand "Jelly Roll" Morton Jools Holland, Ruby Turner, Jools & Ruby Jools Holland, my favourite pianist in the last 10 years. Ruby Turner, a soulful singer. Together they are magic. I've always loved Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D and Janine Jensen does not disappoint. If you like rags, check out Dick Hyman! Tell us why you chose this song. “Raindrop Prelude in D-Flat Major, Op. 28, No. 15” Donna Gobin taught me this prelude. On my sheet music, Donna marked up several changes to tempo, dynamics, fingering, phrasing, pedaling and more. Although I am playing the piece, you are really hearing her interpretation which I have grown to love. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In October 1991, I had the privilege of playing piano for Princess Diana on her visit to Kingston ON Canada. https://www.notjustragtime.com/pictures.php Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would really like to do an album for kids with more of a boogie-woogie feel than traditional sing-a-long albums. I used to play at nursery school and public school when my kids were young so I know kids like songs with energy!
