About Rosanne Philippens

Violinist Rosanne Philippens has become an important figure on the Dutch scene and beyond, with critically acclaimed performances and recordings, as well as innovative concert presentation ideas. With the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands, Philippens performed Karol Szymanowski's Violin Concerto No. 1 under conductor Xian Zhang. The same forces recorded the concerto along with other Szymanowski works in 2014. Her debut with the label had come the previous year with an album of works by Ravel and Bartók, and she released a Prokofiev recital on Channel Classics in 2017. Philippens plays the "Barrere" Stradivarius violin, formerly played by Janine Jansen. Philippens was heard in 2021 with pianist Frank Dupree in a recording of Nikolai Kapustin's Double Concerto, and that year, she released an album of works by Haydn and Stravinsky.
