In the artist’s words: Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Sailor's Lullaby” This is my long-distance love song, spun out in echoes of the classic Irish lover-across-the-sea ballad. I'm releasing this new music, rooted in European immigrant folk music, to coincide with the 100th-anniversary of the 1924 Immigration Acts. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2012, my singing-mates and I were invited to sing Balkan folk songs for the crown prince of Serbia and his wife. The princess told us, with tears in her eyes, that they hadn't heard such poignant sounds of home in a long time. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd like to bring these immigrant-rooted folk songs back to the places that my ancestors came from in Europe -- to sing them in the streets of a formerly Jewish neighborhood in Poland, to learn from contemporary singers in Sweden & Ireland.
