About Radical Face

Radical Face is the primary outlet of Jacksonville singer-songwriter Ben Cooper, who infuses his indie-folk with dramatic storytelling. ∙ Cooper first spotted the name Radical Face on a discarded flyer, later realizing that it was a plastic surgery advertisement with the words “Radical Face-Lift.” ∙ After self-releasing debut album The Junkyard Chandelier in 2003, Radical Face gained widespread attention with the follow-up LP, 2007’s Ghost. ∙ “Welcome Home, Son,” the breakout song from Ghost, has been featured in numerous films and TV shows, including The Blacklist, Skins, and The Returned. ∙ Aside from his work as Radical Face, Cooper is also one half of the indietronica duo Electric President, which made a splash with the 2006 debut album S / T. ∙ In 2011, he launched The Family Tree, an ambitious trilogy of albums about a fictional family, with stories spanning the 19th century to the present. ∙ The Family Tree: The Branches, the trilogy’s final chapter, hit No. 6 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart and No. 11 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart in 2016.
