About Pure Reason Revolution

The British band Pure Reason Revolution combines '70s prog rock with alternative rock, electronics, and polyphonic vocal harmonies. The group started in 2003 around singer, guitarist and keyboardist Jon Courtney and bassist, keyboardist, and singer Chloë Alper. The debut album The Dark Third was released in 2006, and the band also opened for Blackfield and Porcupine Tree, among others. The records Amor Vincit Omnia (2009) and Hammer and Anvil (2010) followed, but the group disbanded in 2011. Pure Reason Revolution reunited in 2018, and the reunion album Eupnea was released in 2020. Original member Greg Jong (vocals, guitar) returned to the band in 2021. Their fifth album Above Cirrus was released in 2022, and their sixth, Coming Up to Consciousness, in 2024.
