About Prisonshake

Prisonshake have been dedicated to putting the rock in indie rock since being formed by Doug Enckler and Robert Griffin in the late 1980s. Influenced by first wave punk bands and classic rock acts such as the Stones and the Faces, the stridently underground duo (backed a rotating cast of cohorts) make lean and mean rock music with the brains and smarts of true music obsessives. In 1993, they released THE ROARING THIRD, and overlooked classic of '90s indie music, then essentially vanished for 15 years, with Griffin concentrating on his record label Scat. 2008, however, saw the release of the band's long-anticipated sprawling double album, DIRTY MOONS.
