A prog rock virtuoso, Australian guitarist Plini has amassed a loyal following with his adept fretboard skills and sophisticated instrumental arrangements. He initially emerged in 2013 by posting tracks and videos online. Following a string of independently recorded EPs, he released his full-length debut, Handmade Cities, in 2016.
Born Plini Roessler-Holgate in Sydney, Australia in 1992, Plini grew up listening to punk and heavy metal bands, and by his teens was already a talented guitarist. It was while studying architecture at college that he began recording music at home and posting videos online. In 2013, he issued two independently produced EPs, Other Things and Sweet Nothings, both of which drew attention from the prog crowd. More EPs followed, as did live shows that helped build his reputation. After leaving university, Plini's profile continued to grow as he released his full-length debut, 2016's Handmade Cities. Along with his own music, Plini has contributed to recordings by other artists including Skyharbor, Intervals, David Maxim Micic, and others. In 2018, Plini returned with the Sunhead EP. ~ Matt Collar
