About Phillip Phillips

Born in Georgia, Phillip Phillips picked up a guitar at the age of 14, forming The Phillip Phillips Band in 2009 with his brothers-in-law. After winning the 11th season of American Idol in 2012, the singer-songwriter’s song “Home,” an Americana-infused ballad that also nabbed prime placement during that summer’s London Olympic Games, earned the biggest first-week sales of any winner in history. He quickly followed his Idol success with his debut album, 2012’s The World From the Side of the Moon, and has since released albums including 2014’s Behind the Light and 2019’s Collateral, while 2023’s Drift Back included “Love Like That,” a track dedicated to his wife and first-born child. Bringing it back to his early days, Phillips re-recorded “Home” along with the popular “Gone, Gone, Gone” as “Phillip’s Versions” in 2024.
