In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My family had an old upright piano with broken keys. After being blown away by my cousin playing by ear, I started doing the same, listening through a CD player to find the right notes. I played so much that my parents moved the piano to the garage. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Billy Joel, Glass Houses Remastered Michael Sembello, Bossa Nova Hotel The Beach Boys, The Very Best Of The Beach Boys: Sounds Of Summer (Expanded Edition Super Deluxe) The Beach Boys were my first love in music. They showed me how to think outside of the box when writing ‘Glass Houses’ showed me how a piano player is supposed to Rock & Roll. ‘Bossa Nova Hotel’ showed me how to match storytelling with the music. Starting with the title, we weren’t sure what it meant. Ideas flowed back and forth, letting the song write itself. It’s the most collaborative track on this album.
